Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling [GLOW]

Liz was serving as the Wing's Construction Contracting Branch Chief when the following occurred. I serve as the Wing's Contracts Attorney and I accompanied her on a visit to the Galaxy on-base housing area to assess a flooding problem. The housing parcel was flooding every time it rained and we tried to find out what was causing it so we could determine how best to handle the occupants' claims and subsequent remediation work. We walked along the back of the parcel until we discovered that the ravine behind the last row of houses was filled with vegetation - overgrown brush, broken tree limbs, etc. We were trying to assess how deep the ravine was when Liz decided to inch her way down into the ravine. Even though it was not very deep, Liz slid right into the ravine because it was muddy and soggy from the earlier heavy rains. She started yelling for help to get out. I grabbed her arms by the wrists in an attempt to pull her up towards me. Instead of my pulling her up, I slid right down into the ravine with her! We were both wearing nice pant suits [mine was silk] and mud slid up our pants' legs, ruining our clothes. After getting our bearings, we finally crawled out of the ravine. We looked like we had been mud wrestling. Liz went home to change while I went to the Golf Course Club House to shower and change. Needless to say, we agreed that we would never wear nice clothes to work again. It was NOT funny at the time but whenever we talked about it thereafter, we would cry so hard from laughter. This is one of my fondest memories of Liz, even though I have many of them. Liz is larger than life and death will not diminish her. Rest in peace. With Prayers & Sympathy to her entire family -- Iris @ the Legal Office
