Barbara Jean Rogers, age 73, of Edwardsville, died Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab. She was born January 17, 1943 in Granite City, IL, the daughter of the late Charles and Jean (Barr) Byrnes. She is survivied by two children: Jeannine (Anthony) Butler of St. Jacob and James (Hong Yu) Rogers of Edwardsville; five grandchildren: James, Francesca, Elaine, Emily and Emma; and two sisters: Kathleen and Bonnie. She was preceded in death by her former husband, William E. Rogers; and a sister, Betty.

Barbara was a Junior High School science teacher in Aurora, IL. She also served in the Peace Corps.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Kalmer Memorial Services, located on Rt. 50 between Lebanon and O'Fallon. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation. Memorial contributions may be given to the Edwardsville Public Library.
