MSGT Joseph L. Eberle, (USAF, Ret) age 73, of New Baden, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Belleville Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh. He was born January 4, 1943 in Philidelphia, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Eberle. He married Mary Ellen Norrenberns. She survives. Also surviving are one son, James (Mary Beth) Eberle of Pennsylvania; three step-children: Kellie Serrano of Trenton, Michael Dowd of New Baden and Dan (Laura) Dowd of Trenton; and several grandchildren.

Mr. Eberle retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the New Baden American Legion. He was also a member of St. George Catholic Church in New Baden.

According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and private services will be held.
