Obituary for Dorothy L. Puckett

Dorothy L. Puckett, age 80, of New Athens, formerly of Branson, MO, died at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at New Athens Home for the Aged in New Athens. She was born March 7, 1936 in Princeton, IA, the daughter of the late Alvirn and Elsie (Rubemeyer) Kensinger. She married Bernal E. "Ed" Puckett May 3, 1952 in Davenport, IA. He survives.

Also surviving are two children: Sherry (Eric) Muir of New Athens and Shawn (Morgan Hunter) Puckett of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren: Margaret Muir, Amelia Muir and Fionna Hunter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings: Frieda Cosper, Bud Kensinger and Patty Kensinger.

Mrs. Pucket worked as a retail clerk in various gifts shops in Branson, MO. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in New Athens.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ in New Athens. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Activities Fund at New Athens Home for the Aged.
