Obituary for Bernice M. Kamm

Bernice M. Kamm, age 78, of Lebanon, IL, died at 2:12 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Lebanon Care Center in Lebanon. She was born October 24, 1937 in Osage County, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Curtis and Geraldine (Monjar) Barbee.

She married Richard Kamm December 26, 1957. He survives. Also surviving are three children: Michael (Jeri) Kamm of Long Beach, CA, Douglas (Teresa) Kamm of Middleburg, FL and Laura Kamm of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sibling, Marinell Trusty of Mt. Carmel, IL; and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Potter.

Mrs. Kamm was a teacher at Lebanon High School, where she also coached archery, volleyball, track and softball. She was loved and respected by her students. After 32 years of service, she retired in 1993. During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, bowling and fishing. She once rolled 11 strikes in one game, and once caught a 7 pound bass at Hornor Park.

According to her wishes, her remains were cremated. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the church, followed by a luncheon.
