Obituary for Robert A. Schrader

Robert A. Schrader, age 51, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, went home to God April 15, 2015, following a brave battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones and had the support of his family and friends who traveled the path with him. His faith and his courage were an inspiration.

Robert was a 1982 graduate of Belleville East Township High School and also graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida. He was employed as a Technical Information Manager for Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group in St. Louis. Robert loved photography, computers, computer parts, and building and rebuilding computers. He loved his son, his family, his job, and working hard all his life until the final moments. He made a difference in the lives of many. He is survived by his son, James Schrader of Collinsville; his parents, James and Patricia (McCauley) Schrader, to whom he was born September 28, 1964; two brothers: James (Kathy) Schrader of Ballwin, MO and Richard Schrader of Belleville; one sister, Jennifer (Cal) Ridgeway of Albuquerque, NM; and special aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends who stood by him.

Help us remember Robert by telling stories and sharing a laugh. Instead of flowers we hope you would do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness in his name. No visitation will be held. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
