Adele Mae  Dougherty (Winter)
Adele Mae Dougherty, nee Winter, age 82, of New Athens, IL, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the New Athens Home for the Aged in New Athens, where she resided for the last three years. She was born November 2, 1933 in New Athens, IL, the daughter of the late Paul and Theresa (Klinckhardt) Winter.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Sue Denton; and her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and William Carpenter.

She is survived by her three children: Diana (Larry) Kunkelmann, Patrick Dougherty, and Dawn (Gary) Idecker, all of New Athens; a nephew, Paul Carpenter of Pinellas Park, FL; three granddaughters: Theresa Kunkelmann of New Athens, Amanda (Jason) Lindsey of Fenton, MO and Savannah Idecker of New Athens; one great-grandson, Reed Patrick Lindsey of Fenton, MO; and her dear friend, Connie Burrows.

Adele was an employee of Autocrat Stove Foundry in New Athens until its' closing. She was also employed as a newspaper carrier in the New Athens area, delivering the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Her favorite hobby and past-time was crocheting and selling her many creations at local craft fairs. She also enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball games.

A memorial visitation and service is pending.
