Obituary for Thomas Myers Sr.

Thomas Myers, Sr., age 59, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 31, 1955 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Marilyn (Hemann) Rutherford of Lebanon and the late Merhl Myers. Besides his mother, he is survived by his step-father, Duane Rutherford of Lebanon; four children: Nichole Myers of New Baden, IL, Tracy (James) Gibson of Seabrook, TX, Kimberly Myers (boyfriend Chris Edler) of Alton, IL and Thomas Myers of Seabrook, TX; six grandchildren: Katherine Bolbach, Kourtney Bolbach, Clayton Bolbach, Claudia Loomis, Chloe Adams and Miranda Myers; one great-grandchild, Presley Bowman; three siblings: Gary (Peggy) Myers of Lebannon, Bradley (Jennifer) Myers of DuQuoin, IL and Elaine (Seth) Speiser of Freeburg; and his nieces and nephews: Kelley Kocher, Andrew Myers, David Myers, Emily Speiser, Abbigail Speiser and Mitchell Speiser. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie Myers.

Mr. Myers worked for Monterey Coal Company as a coal miner. He was also a long-time firefighter with the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Dept.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon, followed by a memorial service. Burial of his cremated remains will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Dept.
