Ethel  Gerstenecker
Ethel Gerstenecker, age 84, of Edwardsville, died at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in her apartment at Eden Village. She was born September 14, 1930, the daughter of John and Emma (Dustman) Graham. She married Milton Gerstenecker November 11, 1957 in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death February 11, 2015. She is survived by four sons: Alan Gerstenecker of Worden, IL, Kevin (Angie) Gerstenecker of Troy, IL, Brian Gerstenecker of Edwardsville and Bruce (Connie) Gerstenecker of Edwardsville; six grandchildren: Chris (Amanda) Gerstenecker of Troy, Patsy (Jason) Alldredge of Collinsville, Sarah Gerstenecker of Woodburn, IL, Andrew Gerstenecker of Glen Carbon, IL, and Jennifer Gerstenecker and Alex Gerstenecker, both of Edwardsville; two great-grandchildren: Kayla and Mabry; one sister, Shirley (Don) Lexow of Bethalto; four sisters-in-law: Betty Graham, Eileen Graham, Colleen Graham and Alice Graham. and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: John Graham, Jerry Graham, Leo Graham, Homer Graham, Clem Graham, Ann (the late Ralph) Karrer, Doris (the late Leonard) O'Brien and Agnes (the late Chester) Eaker. She was also preceded by a brother in infancy.

Ethel worked in the Madison County Treasurer's Office for many years. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, the Daughters of Isabella O'Reilly Circle and she volunteered at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. A mass of Resurrection will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Boniface Cemetery Association
