Obituary for Kenneth Leroy Andes
Kenneth Leroy Andes, age 85, of Richmond VA died Mar 4th 2015 at the Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Lebanon IL.
He was born, Jun. 18, 1929, in Bealeton, VA to the late Amos James Andes Sr. and Lelia Mae Early. He is preceded in death by his wife Lois Andes, two brothers, Ray Andes and Edgar Andes. He leaves behind two brothers, Harold Andes and Amos Andes, both of Richmond, VA. He also leaves behind two sons: Keith Andes (Pamela) of Chesterfield VA, and Kevin Andes (Karen) of St Jacob IL, step-son, Vince Phillips (Nicki) of San Antonio, TX and step-daughter April Phillips of Enterprise, AL, 5 Grandchildren, 1 step-grandson and 8 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Ken grew up as a dairy farmer in Bealeton, VA. He then worked as a city inspector for the city of Richmond for 33 years serving from Aug 5, 1957 – Aug. 30 1990. He was a member of the Westover Hills Baptist Church, Westover Hills United Methodist Church and Friendship Baptist Church. Ken also was a member at the Robious Fitness center where he had many friends and fond memories.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at Westover Hills United Methodist Church, 1705 Westover Hills Blvd., Richmond, VA.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Activities Department at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, One Perryman St., Lebanon, IL 62254.
