Obituary for Frank W. Leffert Jr.

Frank W. Leffert, Jr., age 87, of Troy, IL, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born June 29, 1930 in Rome, NY, the son of the late Frank W. and Mathilda (Pfund) Leffert, Sr.

After moving from place to place while serving in the US Air Force, he began a career in Civil Service in Rome, NY (Griffiss AFB), then was transferred to Kansas City (Richards-Gebaur AFB), and eventually worked at Scott AFB until retirement. He resided in Troy and Collinsville, IL. He enjoyed Formula 1 Racing, fishing and listening to music, especially Reggae and Willie Nelson.

Mr. Leffert is survived by his children: Kenneth (Laurie) Leffert of Cape Girardeau, MO, Paul Leffert of Olathe, KS, Cathleen (Frank) Roberson of Belton, MO and Brian (Stephanie) Leffert of Dunlap, IL; four grandchildren: Michelle Moore, Jeff Johnson, Nicholas Leffert, and Amanda (Paul) Wallace; and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara (Donald) Joanis of Rome, NY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David; a sister, Genevieve; and a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Leffert.

According to his wishes his remains will be cremated.
