Erwin A. Huelskamp (Erv), age 80, of Breese, passed away at 10:04 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. He was born November 19, 1936 in Breese,IL, the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor ( Foppe) Huelskamp. He married Maxine Peiler , December 10, 1960 in Marydale, IL. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter Lisa (Redmond) Quiles of Palmetto, FL and a daughter in law Barb Huelskamp of Belleville, IL. Erv will be greatly missed by his grandsons Kyle, Collin, Joseph and Alex.

Erv came from a big family and they were very close. Living siblings include Sister Julia Huelskamp, PHJC of Donaldson, IN, Rose Aline (John) Saufnauer of St. Louis, Eleanor (Al) Fiascone of Batavia, IL, David Huelskamp of Lake St. Louis, MO, Lorine (the late Bob) Wikman of Culver, IN, Tommy (Jeanette ) Huelskamp of Riverside, CA and Joe (Marilyn) Benhoff of Evansdale, IA. Also two sisters-in-law, Lorene Huelskamp of Breese and Mary Roberson of Duluth, MN.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Huelskamp, and Brian Huelskamp and siblings: Herman Huelskamp, Gerald Huelskamp, Geraldine (the late Tony) Luebbers, Dennis ( the late Lorraine ) Huelskamp, Jerome Huelskamp and Lawrence Huelskamp.

Erv was a devout Catholic and always knew the Blessed Mother would take care of him. He was a U.S Navy veteran, Breese American Legion member, St. Augustine Holy Name member and belonged to the Philippine-American Association.

He retired from Hall Street Industrial Park in St. Louis after 40 years and the Breese Police Department after 26 years.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese. A memorial Mass of Resurrection will immediately follow the visitation. Burial of his cremated remains will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mater Dei Catholic High School in Breese, IL, St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, IL or to Imagine Schools North Manatee where his daughter teaches.
