Arthur Sies, age 71, of Staunton, IL passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Gillespie, IL. He was born March 1, 1946 in Staunton, the son of the late Carl and Opal (Chapman) Sies.

He is survived by his three children: Gail Sies of Staunton, Dennis (Marie) Sies of St. Louis and Artie (Dave) Provost of Staunton; six grandchildren: Hailee Abernathy, Brayden Smiley, Teagan Lorenz, Devin Boster, Katelyn Sies and Kollin Provost; and his siblings: Norman (Joyce) Sies of Gillespie and Carla (Jerry) Weatherford of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Sies.

Mr. Sies was a US Navy veteran. He was the former owner of Art's Bakery in Staunton. He also worked for Hazelwood Farms in St. Louis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Staunton VFW Hall.
