Robert Eugene  Heatherly
Robert E. Heatherly, age 60, of Fairview Heights, IL, died at his residence with his sisters by his side Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was born February 20, 1957 in East St. Louis, IL.
He was a studied musician who enjoyed creating and recording music, as well as performing with local bands. His passion for music and his creative talents on the guitar will be the legacy he leaves to those who loved him. Bob served in the Navy from 1975-1979. His career consisted of working as a fuel specialist on the Titan Tanks rocket fueling station at Vandenberg AFB, CA. He retired as a train operator with Bi State Metro Link .
Mr. Heatherly was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Jeannine (Pharris) Heatherly.
He is survived by his proud father Robert R. Heatherly, his adoring sisters Donna Jeannine Heatherly (Hall), Diana Lyn Tierney (Heatherly), his brother-in-law Dave Tierney, brothers-at-heart Mike Hall and Vernon Obernuefemann. He gained much pride in his nieces and nephews Heather May (Hall), Lauren Anderson (Hall), Jamie Lynn Sunnquist (Tierney), and Jake Tierney, as well as his great-nephews/nieces Dylan and Devin May, Silas Anderson, Evelyn and Aubrey Sunnquist, many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, as well as his loyal companion to the end, Jett. According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and his ashes interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Knights of Columbus hall in O’Fallon at 3:00 p.m. All friends and family are welcome.
