Obituary for Dennis Jacober

Dennis Jacober
Dennis W. "Denny" Jacober, age 72, of Collinsville, formerly of Edwardsville, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Liberty Village in Maryville. He was born December 13, 1944 in Highland, Illinois, the son of Oliver and Norma (Federer) Jacober. His parents preceded him in death.
Denny is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Betty (Eberhart) Jacober, whom he married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville April 15, 1967. He is also survived by two children: Michael Jacober of Edwardsville and Debbie Bredeweg of Sammamish, Washington; five grandchildren: Lauren E. Jacober, McKenzie M. Jacober, Luke J. Bredeweg, Maxwell J. Bredeweg and Maggie N. Bredeweg; and one brother, Jerry (Linda) Jacober of Holts Summit, MO.
Denny was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, a member and Past Grand Knight of the Edwardsville Knights of Columbus Council 1143; and a member of Fourth Degree Assembly 0225. He was the owner of Jacober Automotive and Jacober's Montclair Carwash in Edwardsville, and worked as the service manager of various auto dealerships in the area, as well as the City of Collinsville as a shuttle bus driver. His employment also included Banner Fire Equipment in South Roxana, IL, which is from where he retired. Denny also volunteered his time for Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at the KC Hall in Edwardsville on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 2-6 p.m.
