Richard A. McClelland, age 72, of O'Fallon, died at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Lebanon.
He was born June 24, 1944 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of the late Ira and Lucille (Snoga) McClelland.
Mr. McClelland is survived by three children: Lisa Meisel of O'Fallon, Illinois, Christopher McClelland, also of O'Fallon and Laura Harms of South Elgin, Illinois; five grandchildren: Cody McClelland, Riley McClelland, Hayden Harms, Helena Harms and Drew Harms; one sister, Martha Heape of Maryville, Illinois; a cousin, Darlene Barker of Texas; and two very close friends: Rick Renner and Elzie Fischer.
Richard received a bachelor's degree and was employed as an insurance salesman.
According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and a private service will held at a later date.. The family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Ridge Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for their genuine care and compassion.
