Dale Delmar Langenwalter of Holiday Shores, Edwardsville, IL passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his home in Mission Viejo, CA. In passing, he was surrounded by his loving wife Viola, his three daughters Cheryl, Kim and Jean, and granddaughter Diana Mirahmadi.

Dale was one of five children, born November 16, 1933 in Troy, IL, the son of Arnold and Oradell (Dettmer) Langenwalter.

On November 9, 1963, he married Viola M. (“Vi”) Korte of Pierron, IL. They were blessed with three girls, Cheryl Mirahmadi, Kim Bryans and Jean Mauro, "Dale's Angels".

Dale retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local No. 553 in 1994. He served in the union for many years in various positions, including union boss. Dale and Vi enjoyed a home in Holiday Shores for forty years, from 1975 – 2015. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In his spare time, he played golf, fished and enjoyed sports. Dale's girls counted on him for help with a wide array of home improvement projects. Dale suffered from terminal respiratory related illnesses for many years, and due to their declining health, Vi and Dale moved to California in July 2015.

Besides his wife he is survived by his three daughters: Cheryl A. (Mojtaba "Moji") Mirahmadi of California, Kim M. (Craig) Bryans of Georgia and Jean M. (Jeff) Mauro of New Jersey; eight grandchildren: Sarah Mirahmadi, Maryam Mirahmadi, Hanah Mirahmadi and Diana Mirahmadi, all of Laguna Hills, CA; Amanda M. Bryans and James R. Bryans, both of Acworth, GA; and Joshua D. "Josh" Carter and Samantha J. "Sam" Carter, both of New Providence, NJ; his siblings: Floyd (Dorothy "Dot") Langenwalter of Collinsville, IL and Carol (Marvin "Marv") Howerton of Donna, TX; one sister-in-law, Betty Langenwalter of Sun City West, AZ; and one brother-in-law, Thomas "Tom" Crossman of Edwardsville, IL. He was preceded in death by a brother, Milton "Milt" Langenwalter; and a sister, Shirley Crossman.

The Wake will be Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Church in Edwardsville, IL. There will be visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, presided by Father Jeffrey Goeckner. Dale will be laid to rest immediately following at the St. Boniface cemetery. All are invited to join the family for a luncheon at St. Boniface Church following the burial.
