The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Power can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: MSgt (Ret) Aaron Rogers and MSgt (Ret) Susan Rogers
Condolence: RIP LtCol J.D. Power. We learned a lot and benefitted from your leadership and "Quiet Competence" at the GPMRC. You made a difference and earned the respect of your troops and peers. Go rest high on that mountain, your work here on earth is done. With tremendous respect. Salute.

Condolence From: Bill, Ela, Rodney, and Nicholas Misiak
Condolence: Kim, Jason and Mark, we are truly sorry for your loss. J.D. was a one-of-a-kind friend who loved to talk sports, especially the game of hockey. He was a major influence towards the success of hockey in this region, and for what it represents today. I remember some of our interesting discussions that resulted in agreeing to disagree, and vice versa. We will miss J.D., God bless.

Condolence: Rest in Peace, my Book Buddy. JD was larger than life and death will not diminish him. While I miss our monthly "book club" lunches, I also know that JD is now in heaven playing backgammon with Corey. My prayers are with you, my beloved Kimberley, Jason, and Mark. Love you -- Iris

Condolence: Kim, Jason & Mark: Aside from being my good friend and mentor, John(your dad) was an extraordinary individual who loved life and lived and dedicated himself to the development of individuals to become the best they could be. John would stay after every one of my hockey practices and watch as I provided additional training to improve the ability of my players. This is the zest for life that made John who he was and he will be sadly missed. God bless you and I'll miss you.

Condolence From: Walter Judd
Condolence: John was a treasure. He was the expert for many years on the USAF's medivac operations as an active duty officer and then contractor. He loved sports and spent countless hours ensuring the game was right for all the players and coaches. For a Virginia boy to start and lead an ice hockey league is an interesting part of his resume. We in the 1969 class of VMI miss him already.

Condolence: Kimberley,

I am so sorry to hear about John's death. I will always have fond memories of him, especially his smile, his amusing stories, and his wonderful laugh.
He will be missed.

Please extend my sympathies to your boys as well.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
