Obituary for John D. Power

John D.  Power
Lt. Col, John D. Power, (Ret., USAF, MSC) age 69, of O'Fallon, died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Lebanon.
John retired from the US Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel Medical Service Corps Officer. Since retirement he became a government contractor. He was a member of White House Military Aides Association, Rotary International(Paul Harris fellow), Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, one of the founders of the O’Fallon High School hockey organization, former president of MidAmerica Collegiate Hockey Association and referee of football, basketball, softball and volleyball.
He was a graduate of Virginia Military Institute, receiving masters degrees from George Washington University and Webster University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Yuille and Rosamond Virginia (Brown) Power.
Surviving are his wife, Kimberley Klein Power, whom he married February 27, 1977; sons Jason Dietrich Power (Catherine) and Marcus Cameron Power; his wonderful grandchildren Lillian and Jackson Power; one brother, Thomas Michael Power and one sister, Deborah Kay Power (Lloyd Solberg).
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Kalmer Memorial Services, 8638 US Hwy 50, Lebanon. His cremated remains will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
