Obituary for Marjorie G. "Gene" Earnshaw (Ford)
Marjorie "Gene" Earnshaw, age 88, of O'Fallon, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Shiloh.
She was born January 1, 1928 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of the late Seward E. and Merle L. (McIntyre) Ford. She married Charles W. Earnshaw, Sr. June 7, 1969. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Moon-Fanelli (and her husband John) of Eastford, CT; and her dear friend Kathy Enser of O'Fallon.
Mrs. Earnshaw was a graduate of East St. Lous High School and Monticello College (now Lewis and Clark College in Godfrey). She worked as a secretary for Cerro Copper Products, Inc. in Sauget, IL. She raised many German Shepherd dogs and was a member of the German Shepherd Club of St. Louis and Therapy Dogs International. She and her dog Annie made over 500 visits to area nursing homes, retirement homes and assisted living centers.
There will be no services. According to her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be enurned at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville. Memorial contributions may be given to Spencer Rescue in O'Fallon.
