Obituary for Ruth A. Cantrell (Milligan)

Ruth Cantrell, age 72, of Lebanon, formerly of Belleville, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Lebanon. She was born June 8, 1944 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of the late Orville and Lillian (Lybarger) Milligan. She married William Cantrell April 25, 1963 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death July 14, 2011.

Surviving are two daughters: Sherry (Timothy) Jarrett of Belleville and Debra (fiance Donald Thuis) Sucic of Belleville; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Kim) Reida, Amanda (Erik) Mensen, Timothy Lee (Sarah) Jarrett, Jr., Tiffany Ann Jarrett and Christopher Moppins; two great-grandchildren: Morgan Mensen and Lucy Jarrett; and one brother, George Miligan of Arizona; and three step-grandchildren: Veronica Thuis, Alex Thuis and Dominic Thuis.

Mrs. Cantrell was a certified nurse's assistant. According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at the Nichols Center, 515 E. D Street in Belleville. It will be a potluck.
