Darlene D'Amico, age 80, of Highland, passed away peacefully at 11:02 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her residence. She was born August 17, 1936 in Carlyle, the daughter of the late Alfred and Wilma (Aarns) Schmitz.

Besides her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Schmitz.

She is survived by her husband, Archie D'Amico; her children: Chuck (Nancy) Trickey, Kathi (Mark Price) Steinkamp, Linda (Danny Brunato) Overby, Donna (Tom) Lehmann and Bill (Denise) Trickey; eight grandchildren: Ryan Steinkamp, Nathan Steinkamp, Justin Overby, Kristin Eveland, Misty King, Kim Gormley, Ian Lehmann and Dennis Trickey; 12 great-grandchildren: Kaai Steinkamp, Jade Steinkamp, Gage Steinkamp, Paige Overby, Taylor Overby, Coltin Payne, Hayden Payne, Jamie King, Jenny King, Madison King, Kiera Gormley and Kevin Gormley; one brother, Don (Maryanne) Schmitz; one sister, Dorothy (the late Mike) Stanfa; one sister-in-law, Ruth Schmitz; and four step-children: Paul (Donna) D'Amico, Stephen (Andrea) D'Amico, David (Terrie) D'Amico and Michael D'Amico.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL, with a funeral mass immediately following. Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Carlyle.

Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 971 Main St, Pierron, IL 62273.
