Richard M.  Hertel
Richard M. Hertel, age 72, of Edwardsville, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
He was born November 17, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Raymond and Dolores (Meyer) Hertel. He married. Mary Bennett. She survives.
Also surviving are three children: Todd Hertel of Spartanburg, SC, Tracy (Patrick) Johnston of Edwardsville and Terri Parrott of St. Charles, MO; two step-children: Cathy Meachum of Bethalto, IL and Jim (Beverly) Anderson of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren: Justin Anderson, Katie Wooten, Jacob Johnston, Benjamin Johnston, Michael Johnston, Hayden Anderson and Riley Parrott; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joyce (Lenny) Pagano of St. Peters, MO and Jacque Mauer of St. Charles, MO; and a brother-in-law, David (Kathy) Bennett of St. Peters, MO.
Rich worked for CitiGroup in St. Louis, as a Procedure/Compliance Analyst. He enjoyed golf, tennis, and boating, but especially enjoyed his two Corvettes. He was a very active member of the Holiday Shores Association and was its' current Secretary. He was also a member of the Lookinglass Corvette Club and St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the church with the Very Rev. Jeffrey Goeckner officiating. Following the mass, his remains will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Boniface Catholic Church or to the Holiday Shores Association.
