Shirley Jean  Schulte
Shirley Jean Schulte (nee Corrington) of Belleville, Illinois, born September 5, 1927, passed away at 10:20 p.m. June 23, 2016 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Belleville and worked for many years as a bookkeeper and retail sales. She was preceded in death by her parents, James P. and Irene (Peach) Corrington, and a cousin, Nancee Barnes. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Bray (Bud) Schulte; two children, BJ (Brenda Kurtz-Schulte) Schulte of Belleville, IL and Jamie Smith of Denver, CO; a brother, Stanley (Bev) Corrington of Tacoma, Washington; her granddaughter, Amy (Kent) Dunlap; great-grandsons: Logan, Tyler, Colin and Garet of Mascoutah; nieces: Patti (Michael) Johns of Spokane, Washington, and Susan and Angela Barnes of Belleville; brother-in-law, Jack (Jane) Schulte; sister-in-law, Jean Wilks of St. Louis; and special friends, Doris and Walter Johannsen of Belleville.

She was a loving mother, a voracious reader and had a passion for decorating. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Atrium of Belleville and Hospice of Southern Illinois for the comfort and attentiveness during her stay. Per her request, she was cremated. There will be no service. Please make donations to “Make A Wish Foundation” or the ASPCA.
