Susan Catherin Bixler, age 63, of Keyesport, IL, died at 7:40 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Vandalia Rehab Center in Vandalia, IL. She was born May 6, 1953 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the William Patterson and Betty (Swift) Russell. She married Frank Bixler. He survives.

Susan was the first female maintenance worker for Canteen Vending Company, where she installed and repaired all vending machines in factories. She was also a full time over-the-road truck driver, specializing in oversized loads. She had also been a dispatcher for over 20 years, where she moved the same type of material. Susan was known as the Keyesport Dog Lady, doing rescue runs for dogs from kill to non-kill shelters.

According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated.
