Obituary for Corinne J. Hentz (Govan)

Corinne J. Hentz, age 88, of Edwardsville, died at 9:26 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born June 4, 1927 in Mt. Olive, IL, the daughter of the late William and Ida (Rademacher) Govan. She married Charles R. Hentz. He preceded her in death November 13, 1999.

She is survived by two sons: Patrick (Jeanette) Hentz of Collinsville and Chris (Kathy) Hentz of Edwardsville; five grandchildren: Lisa (Mike) Whitehead, Ryan (Dyana) Hentz, Andy (Angie) Hentz, Kristi (Justin) Huneke and Ben (Erin) Hentz; 11 great-grandchildren: Chelsea Whitehead, Bailey Whitehead, Jackson Hentz, Mary Lorraine Hentz, Grant Huneke, William Hentz, Charles Hentz, Blake Huneke, Sarah Hentz, Kate Huneke and Lilly Whitehead; step-granddaughter: Teresa (Lonnie) Rouse; two nieces: Suzie Hartman and Lori Fuller; and a sister, Mary Alice Fuller.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Govan.

Along with her husband, Corinne loved square dancing and participating in activities at Main Street Community Center. She also loved quilting and watching her grandchildren grow.

According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and a private service will be held.
