Obituary for Donald D. Robinson

Donald D.  Robinson
Donald D. Robinson, age 84, of Pocahontas, IL, died at 11:58 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland.

He was born November 18, 1931 in Atchison, KS, the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Welch) Robinson. He married Barbara Lewis in 1956. She survives. Also surviving are three children: Karen (Mark) Brigman of Columbia, IL, David Robinson of Marion, IL and Cheryl (Mike) Dunn of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Robinson was employed by Shell Refinery in Wood River as a electrical draftsman. He was self-taught in many things and was an extraordinary handy-man. He loved to hunt and fish; was a US Army veteran of the Korean War; and was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL.

According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated. A memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church.
