Obituary for Betty J. Sea (Wyatt)

Betty J. Sea, age 85, of O'Fallon, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 24, 1931 in Frankfort, KY, the daughter of the late Ray O. and Gertrude A. (Robinson) Wyatt. She married Leonard Hamilton Sea, Jr. in 1951. He preceded her in death December 10, 1987. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children: Don Alan Sea, Lin Ray Sea and Ken Hamilton Sea; a grandchild, Van Adam Sea, Jr., a great grandchild, Cassidy Navedo; a sister, Priscilla VanMeter; and a brother, Ray O. Wyatt, Jr.

Surviving are three children: Sharon Sea Hamilton of O'Fallon, Van Adam (Debra) Sea of Glenwood Springs, CO and Libby (Kent) Zbinden of Greenville, IL; 12 grandchildren: Kari Sea, Brad Sea, Wyatt Sea, J.T. Hamilton, Van Coleman Sea, Lakin Wooldridge, Leslie Hamilton, Kyle Sea, Nikki Sea, Taylor Sea, Ken Sea, Jr., and Morgan Sea; four great-grandchildren: Charli Jean Sea, Aeson Reid Sea, Nathan Navedo and Noel Navedo; one sister, Peggy Jo (William "Red") Broughton of Monticello, KY; and her daughter-in-law, Penny Sea of Tampa, FL.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in O'Fallon. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in Frankfort, KY and was formerly a bank teller at the O'Fallon Savings and Loan and a secretary for O'Fallon School District 90. As an avid collegiate basketball fan, she loved March Madness and was a lifelong, blue-blooded University of Kentucky fan. But mostly, she enjoyed being a loving mom, grandma and great grandma.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Stonebridge Villas Clubhouse, 1333 Stone Hill Dr in O'Fallon. Rev. Lori Gaffner will officiate.
