Obituary for William M. Meese
William "Bill" Meese, age 70, of Belleville, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born December 12, 1945 in Batavia, OH, the son of the late Harry "Bud" and Eva (Hockstok) Meese. He married Joyce Finlay December 16, 1972. She preceded him in death May 8, 2011.
Mr. Meese is survived by three children: Gail Meese of Belleville, Lindsey Meese of Belleville and David (Becky) Meese of Springfield, VA; four grandchildren: Bryan Hall, Bailey Apazeller, Mallory McGrew and Michael McGrew; three brothers: Dennis (Betty) Meese, Donald (Judy) Meese and Gene Meese, all of New Richmond, OH; and one sister, Ruthie (Allen) Nester of Batavia, OH.
Bill was a mechanical engineer who had a wide range of hobbies. He dabbled in many things, but was a lifelong and voracious reader who loved music.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Kalmer Memorial Services, located on Rt. 50 between Lebanon and O'Fallon. According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated.
