Obituary for Cynthia Downen (Eaton)

Cynthia Downen (Eaton)
Cynthia Downen, age 50, of Belleville, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2015 at her residence. She was born July 21, 1965 in Belleville, the daughter of Irma Kathryn (Hillard) Eaton of Belleville, and the late John Robert Eaton. She married George "Skip" Downen April 2, 2004. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Andrew Hoffmann of Belleville; her former husband, Robert Hoffmann of Belleville; one brother, Robert J. (Julie) Eaton of Belleville; and two sisters: Barbara Joan Carrico of Belleville and Mainda K. (Mark) Eschman of Belleville. Cynthia is also survived by a sister-in-law, Suzanne (Kenneth) Schwahn of Fairview Heights; her mother-in-law, Patricia Downen of Swansea; an uncle, M.L. (Janet) Hillard of Belleville; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends: Pam Juenger, Janie Bailey and Mike Ernst. Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Delmar Downen.
Mrs. Downen worked as a real estate appraiser for 25 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. at the Steamfitter's Hall, Local 439, 1220 Donald Bailey Dr., Caseyville, IL 62232. Memorials maybe made to Cynthia's family in her honor
