Obituary for Nina Kay Cleveland (Schroeder)

Nina Kay Cleveland (Schroeder)
Nina Kay Cleveland, 59, of Alhambra, IL, born June 25, 1955, in Belleville, IL, died Friday June 12, 2015.
Nina devoted her life to her family and her passion for creating and teaching art. Throughout her life she always created beautiful things and lavishly used every possible vibrant color in the palette, every texture and every medium she could get her hands on. She worked as a grade school art teacher in Highland, Illinois for 21 years, and inspired countless talents in her students and others. Not only did she love art, she had great passion for music, science, pacifism, and animals; committing herself to ethical-vegetarianism. Her impact on the people she knew and loved is immeasurable, and will continue to live on in every person she came into contact with, but her energy and physical being will now return to the cosmos to combine with other bits of matter to create beautiful things, just as she did while she was alive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold J. and Violet E., nee Krausz, Schroeder

Surviving are her husband, Friedhelm Weisser, two children, Emily N. Sydow and Justin J. Cleveland; granddaughter, Violet L. Sydow; son-in-law, Joel J. Sydow, a stepson, Carl Weisser; and her first husband, John L. Cleveland.

According to her wishes, there will be no services held, and her remains will be cremated. In loving memory of Nina, the family wishes for people to show more kindness to all living things, and recognize and appreciate all of the beauty in the universe.
