Leola Belle (Henry) Adlesperger, age 77, of O'Fallon, died at 1:44 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at her residence. She was born April 28, 1937 in Potosi, MO, the daughter of Peter and Frances (Marler) Henry. Her father was a railroad man, logger, and farmer while her mother was a Pentecostal preacher.
Leola was the youngest of 16 children and raised in rural Missouri. She enjoyed being doted on by her father and her older siblings. She was joined in marriage to Ray Dean Adlesperger on August 13, 1960 and they had a family of six children. He preceded her in death May 1, 2013.
Throughout her life, Leola filled her days as a mother and Army officer's wife. She also worked as a CNA for 15 years. She spent her life as an active member of God's community, singing, serving and praying in the various places she lived. She spent her last days worshiping at Crossview Assembly of God in O'Fallon, IL.
Her interests included growing plants and gardening, singing, and praying for her far-flung family.
Mrs. Adlesperger is survived by her children and their spouses: Patricia Snare, Kirk Adlesperger, Kent Adlesperger, Tarril Adlesperger, Loren Adlesperger, and Laura (Adlesperger) Duskie; 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren: and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Kalmer Memorial Services, located on Rt. 50 between Lebanon and O'Fallon. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery in Potosi, MO. Flowers may be ordered from Leola's friend, Frances, at Lasting Impressions: 618-398-7777.
