Obituary for Dorothy Breidert

Dorothy Breidert, age 86, of Lebanon, IL, formerly of Paducah, KY, died peacefully surrounded by her children at her home on February 22, 2015. She was born October 7, 1928 in St. Louis, the daughter of Sylvester and Hilda (Neels) Werner. She was married for 63 loving years to her high school sweetheart, Elmer C. Breidert. He preceded her in death August 4, 2010. She is survived by six children: Stephanie (Dale) Hamilton of South Fulton, TN, Janice Breidert of Lebanon, Thomas (Jane) Breidert of Frankfort, KY, Charles Breidert of Gainsboro, TN, Michael (Brenda) Breidert of Frankfort, KY and Teresa (William) Landay of Manassas, VA; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Zelle of St. Louis. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Elmer, JR.; two brothers, John and Sylvester (Butch) Werner; and one sister, June Grass.
Mrs. Breidert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon. She was a former member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Paducah, KY. The ultimate mother and homemaker, Dorothy was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing special meals for friends and family. Dorothy dedicated her spare time volunteering in her church and local community: teaching Red Cross swim lessons; being team Mom (Momma "B") to the Paducah Swim Team; and working over 20 years for the Lourdes Hospital Auxiliary.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, attention Tribute Program (37770622), P.O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
