Obituary for Norman Costley

Norman Costley, age 82, of Staunton, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Lebanon Care Center in Lebanon. He was born May 18, 1932 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Leroy and Lorene (Wicker) Costley. He married Shirley Monroe May 17, 1963. She survives. Also surviving are four children: Cindy (Darrell) Baker of Shipman, IL, Chris (Terri) Costley of Glen Carbon, IL, Diane (Von) Ibbotson of Albion, IL and Cindy Oglesby of Jerseyville, IL; nine grandchildren: Kim (Ed) Knecht, Melanie (Andrew) Smith, Andrea Costley, Joshua (Carissa) Meyer, Dan (Renee) Meyer, Cody Meyer, Michelle Teeter, Ben Jostes and Pete Anderson; numerous great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Lee (Mary) Costley and Ron (Barb) Costley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Forrest Jostes and Evan Ibbotson; two sisters: Marie Spengeman and Catherine Costley; and an infant brother.

Mr. Costley worked as a purchasing agent for Boeing. He was an avid sports fan, especially golf, and was an avid reader. But mostly, he enjoyed being with his family.
