Gerald J.  Huelskamp
Gerald J. Huelskamp, age 86, of Breese, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 28, 1928 in Breese, the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Foppe) Huelskamp. He married Lorene Eilering June 4, 1951. She survives. Also surviving are his children: Gerry (Sandi) Huelskamp of Rural Carlyle, Terry (Sherri) Huelskamp of Woodlawn, Brice Huelskamp of Aviston, Susan (Kevin) Heim of Highland, Mary (Sam) Wells of Tunnel Hill, IL, Jeff Huelskamp of rural Carlyle, Lori Huelskamp of Breese, Lynn (special friend Mark Henss) Huelskamp of Beckemeyer and Christine Huelskamp of Breese; 12 grandchildren: Tyler Huelskamp of Fairview Heights, IL, Kasey Huelskamp of Breese, Lindsay Heim of Arnold, MO, Xavier Heim of Olympia, WA, Jennifer Huelskamp of Mt. Vernon, Brock Huelskamp of Carlyle, Cruz Kampwerth of Centralia, Justine Hardy of Breese, Jessica Hardy of Breese, Dylan Hardy of Breese, Kaleb Ricklef of Breese and Anakin Ricklef of Breese; ten great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters: Sr. Julia Huelskamp, PHJC of Donaldson, IN, Rosaline (John) Saufnauer of Affton, MO, Eleanor (Al) Fiascone of Batavia, IL, Erwin (Maxine) Huelskamp of Breese, David (Mary Beth) Huelskamp of Lake St. Louis, MO, Tom (Jeanette) Huelskamp of Riverside, CA, Lorine Wikman of Culver, IN, and Joey (Marilyn) Benhoff of Evansdale, IA. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lorraine Huelskamp of Breese.

He was preceded in death by one son, Denny Huelskamp; one grandson, James Wells; one sister, Geraldine Luebbers; four brothers: Jerome, Lawrence, Herman and Dennis Huelskamp; and two brothers-in-law, Bob Wikman and Tony Luebbers.

Mr. Huelskamp was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Breese American Legion post 252. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, where he held numerous offices and was a 55 year member of Breese Knights of Columbus. He also served two terms as an Alderman for the city of Breese.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Breese. A memorial mass will immediately follow the visitation. Burial of his cremated remains will be in St. Dominic Cemetery in Breese. Memorials may be given to the St. Augustine Church Building Fund or to Heartland Hospice.
