Obituary for Gary R. Culver

Gary R. Culver, age 63, of Summerfield, died at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1951 in Warrenton, MO, the son of Martha Rose (Young) Culver of Prior, OK and the late Ernest Culver. Besides, his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Ogden) Culver, whom he married April 26, 1980 in Vandalia, MO. Also surviving are three children: Dustin (Maryann) Hurshman of Camarillo, CA, Wendy Padgett of South Carolina and James (Rhonda) Culver of Vandalia, MO; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ron Culver of Prior, OK, Allan (Dollie) Culver of San Angelo, TX and Rob (Brenda) Culver of Knob Noster, MO; and one sister, Sharon Rose (David) Call of Prior, OK. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Culver worked in maintenance for the Unites States Postal Service. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vandalia, MO and the Fresh Start Community Church of God in Lebanon.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Fresh Start Community Church of God in Lebanon, with Pastor Brian Pope officiating. According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated. Memorial contributions may be given to American Legion Post 283 in Lebanon.
