Obituary for Wibert R. Warke

Wilbert Warke, age 81, of Lebanon, died peacefully at 7:20 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, after succumbing to cancer.

Mr. Warke is survived by his wife, Greta (Collier) Warke, whom he married in 1956; two sons: Dale and Glenn Warke; daughters-in-law, Cynthia (Trexler) Warke and Joyce Evangelista; and two grandchildren: Michele and Megan Warke.

Wilbert grew up in Ashley, PA, the only son to Elisabeth Warke. After graduating high school, he joined the US Navy Reserves in 1951, then transferring to active duty in the US Air Force in 1955. His distinguished service covered the years 1951-1983, retiring from his last duty station, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. After the military, Mr. Warke worked for the US Post Office in St. Louis, MO for 20 years. Wilbert was an avid ham radio operator and enjoyed fishing with his granddaughters.

Mr. Warke's final resting place will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. A private burial with military honors will be conducted.
