Obituary for Franklin Kempfer
Franklin "Frank" D. Kempfer, age 67, of Coulterville, died at 9:42 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 30, 1946 in Belleville, the son of the late Russell and Lois (Hart) Kempfer. He married Joann Bell in 1969. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jodi Hormann of Steelville, IL; one step-son, Scott (Susan) Simon of Coulterville; two grandchildren: Lindsey Simon and Brittany Hormann; and several brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Hart; and a sister, Charlotte Duffie.
Mr. Kempfer was a coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Following cremation, his remains were buried in a private ceremony in Tilden, IL.
