Ms. Mary Margaret Link, 86, of Edwardsville, formerly of Springfield, IL, died on July 11, 2014 at her home.
She was born in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Wilhelma F. and Albert J. Link. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers, Albert F. Link and William J. Link, her nephew William Boyd Link and her parents.
Mary was a lifetime member of St. Agnes Parish in Springfield. She was first employed at Dirksen Furniture Store. Following her time at the furniture store, Mary became a bookkeeper, and then an elevator operator for the State of Illinois. She retired after 30 years of faithful service to the State on December 30th, 1997.
“Aunt Mary Margaret” is survived by her sister-in-law Norma M. Link, Springfield, IL; 4 nephews: David William Link (Kathleen) of Iowa City, IA; Michael Robert Link of Peoria, IL; Stephen Joseph Link (Debra) of St. Louis, MO; Richard Thomas Link of Edwardsville, IL; 5 nieces: Jacquelyn Louise Dezort (Tom) of Edwardsville; Susan Marie Foster (Jim) of Longview, TX; Mary Patricia LaRose (Robert) of Edwardsville, IL; Elizabeth Ann Link (Michael Joslyn) of Edwardsville, IL; and Sarah Jane Suhrenbrock (David) of Litchfield, IL; and great nephews and nieces too numerous to count.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26th, 2014 at St. Agnes Church in Springfield, IL. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
