Obituary for Carla L. Butano
Carla Butano, age 74, of Wood River, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. She was born April 22, 1940 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Flinn) Butano. She is survived by many cousins. Ms. Butano was a pre-school teacher at Roxanna Daycare.
Carla loved her experience as a teacher for 34 years at the Roxana Day Care/ Preschool where she was known as 'Aunt' Carla. Carla was a friend to everyone she met and no one was untouched by her gentleness. She will be remembered by many for the tatted bookmark crosses she made and gave to over 100 friends and family members. She loved life and will be missed by all her cousins and card playing buddies at Golden Oaks.
According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
