Obituary for James Michael Quirk

James Michael  Quirk
James M. Quirk, age 43, of Belleville, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born March 20, 1971 in Belleville, the son of Michael Joe and Judith (Kaiser) Quirk of Belleville. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn (Miller) Quirk, whom he married November 5, 2011 at Concordia United Church of Christ in Belleville. He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Quirk) Lucas and her husband, Irving of St. Charles, MO; two nephews: Kaiser and Ari Lucas of St. Charles, MO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Janet Miller of Troy, IL; and his paternal grandmother, Liberty Belle Quirk of Belleville.

Mr. Quirk was a 1989 graduate of Belleville East High School, and a 1994 graduate of McKendree University. He was Vice Principal of the Illinois Center for Autism in Fairview Heights and was a very active member of Concordia United Church of Christ in Belleville. He was an Eagle Scout and an avid history buff. He loved the Sci-Fi genre, Formula 1 Racing and extensive traveling, including hikes across Europe twice and national parks.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Concordia United Church of Christ, 7600 State Rt. 163 in Belleville. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the church with Pastor David Krueger officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Concordia United Church of Christ in Belleville.
