Obituary for Roscoe E. Johnson
Roscoe E. Johnson, age 88, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Collinsville, died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Elmwood Care Center in Maryville. He was born October 19, 1925 in Cabool, MO, the son of the late Russell and Mary (Randall) Johnson. On April 12, 1953, he married Dolores Jaeck in East St. Louis, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two sons: Michael (Debra) Johnson of Northridge, CA and Mark (fiance Joan Hayes) Johnson of Collinsville; two grandsons: Joseph Johnson of Collinsville and Matthew Johnson of Granite City; one brother, Doc Johnson of Mountain Grove, MO; and one sister, Ruby Rice of Lebanon, MO. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Mr. Johnson was a union electrician with IBEW Local 309 in Collinsville. He also trained and raced horses for many years at Fairmount Park Race Track in Collinsville.
A memorial service will be held at Meridean Village in Glen Carbon at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014.
