Obituary for Catherine Scaturro

Anna “Catherine” Scaturro, 85, passed away peacefully at 5:29 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Liberty Village Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones in Maryville, Il.
Catherine was born January 22, 1929, in Llasco, Missouri, to the late Ernest and Katherine Juanita (Konko) Morris.
She was joined in marriage to Bernard James Scaturro on January 28, 1951 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Mitchell, Illinois.
In addition to her beloved husband she is survived by six children: Sharon Kinkead and Charlotte McLean (Michael) both of Collinsville, James Scaturro (Jacque) of Iberia, Missouri, Mary Kay Fleming and Theresa Davis of Lake Ozark and Mark Scaturro (Laura) of Worden and her brother Charles Morris of Granite City along with 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Steven Clayton Lynn, great-granddaughter Brianna Overby and her brother, Marion “Buzz” Morris.
Katherine worked at Kozyacs Market in Granite City in the mid 1960s. Relocating to Phoenix, Arizona in 1978, Katherine spent 16 years living in the sunshine and returned to the metro east to be near her family.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends whom she adored.
Her hobbies included making crafts, working crossword puzzles, playing the piano and creating wonderful meals. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial mass and memorial service will be held in her honor at Sts. Peter and Paul in Collinsville, Il at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 13 with Fr. John Beverage attending. Arrangements entrusted to Kalmer Memorial Services.
